1. What are your weekend services like?
Each weekend at The Carpenter’s Church, you’ll experience a relaxed, open, and welcoming atmosphere with upbeat, contemporary worship music and a relevant, practical message. Most Weekend Services last about 90 minutes, so don’t worry, we won’t keep you here all day! We provide a printed outline for notes in your worship guide in order to help you get the most out of each week’s teaching. Children are well cared for in a loving, safe nursery and a fun-filled KidsZone service.
2. What will happen when I visit for the first time?
If you are visiting for the first time, we will not embarrass you, have you stand up, or ask you to give money. We understand that many people who are checking out a church for the first time prefer to remain “anonymous” for a while–and that’s fine with us! Come on in and take your time on deciding if Carpenter’s is the church for you. You’ll receive no pressure from us.
3. What should I wear to attend your services?
You’ll find everything from casual attire to the occasional business dress at our Weekend Services. Come in what is comfortable for you, because at Carpenter’s it’s not about what you look like or what you wear.
4. What time should I show up?
Our Sunday Worship Encounter begins promptly at 10:00am. We also offer a complimentary cafe that opens at 9:30, so feel free to come a little early and enjoy some refreshments, coffee, and juice as well as meet some new friends!
5. Where are you located?
We meet on 28 Bypass (1610 Pearman Dairy Road) in Anderson, South Carolina. Need directions?
6. Do you have a mid-week service?
Our Student Ministry meets on Wednesdays, 7:00pm, at our church campus. All other Wednesday meetings (AWANA and adult) will resume in September.
7. What about my children?
At The Carpenter’s Church, your children are a top priority. We love kids and put a great deal of our time and energy into creating an environment where they can learn, grow, and connect to Jesus in a real and relevant way. Our nursery is clean, safe and well-staffed. Our KidsZone is a dynamic, upbeat ministry for children grades 1-5. Our Youth Ministry is geared to give our students, grades 6-12, powerful truth to be difference-makers in their world. You can learn more about our Children’s programs here
8. How can I meet others and get connected?
There are many ways to get involved. You can start by attending our NewComers Luncheon that meets immediately after our Sunday Service the first Sunday of each month. Lunch is provided and this class gives you a brief, but thorough overview of what Carpenter’s is all about. Small Groups is another way to connect. In these groups you can build friendships, learn more about the life of our church, and have the opportunity to grow in your faith.
9. How can I grow in my faith?
Our desire is to see you become a fully devoted follower of Christ. From the initial decision to trust Jesus as your Lord to your involvement in life-giving ministry, we will lead you step-by-step from healing, to growth, and into serving others. Pizza with the Pastor is a great place to start.
10. How would you describe a typical Sunday service at Carpenter’s?
It all starts with smiling faces at the front door to welcome you and help you navigate the building. On your way into the auditorium you might stop by our café and grab a free hot coffee or a tea and a doughnut. Feel free to take it into the auditorium with you if you like and sit wherever you wish. We don’t have assigned seats and there’s not a bad seat in the house. On most occasions we start off with music, which is loud and engaging. After we sing together you will experience a teaching that is creative, relevant, and practical to your everyday life. You’ll have a chance to reflect on the message at the end and we will play some more tunes on your way out. As you exit you’ll see more smiling faces and have the opportunity to ask any questions you might have. Each week after the message, the pastor stays down front to allow people time to come up and have a chat. His name is Kendall and he would love to meet you. Feel free to introduce yourself.
