21 Days of Prayer

"If my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land." (2 Chronicles 7:14)

August 8-28

Prayer is a vital part of The Carpenter's Church.  While we encourage prayer on a regular basis, we've learned that it helps us to have a special emphasis on prayer twice each year.  We do this through 21 Days of Prayer every January and August.  These two months are intentional as they begin new seasons of the year.  Together, we faithfully seek God first, trusting His power alone to create lasting impact in our lives, our church and our world.

Three simple commitments

During 21 Days of Prayer, we are encouraging everyone to make three basic commitments:

  1. Pray Daily at 7:14 AM and/or PM for The Carpenter's Church, our ministries, and our effectiveness both in Anderson and around the world.
  2. Join us the next three Wednesday evenings (August 10, 17 & 24) at 6:40 for personal and corporate prayer.
  3. Follow along with the devotionals we will be posting on our church Facebook page during these 21 Days.

Prayer Focus

WEEK ONE:

MONDAY: other churches in our community.  Pray for the churches you pass each day, the churches where you have family members and friends attending.

TUESDAY: Our community.  Pray for revival and spiritual awakening in the Anderson area.  Pray for economic growth, the end of poverty, lower crime rates and unity within the community.

WEDNESDAY: Our neighbors. Pray for the people who live near you; next door, across the street, in your neighborhood.  Pray for them by name. Ask the Lord to use you to make a difference in their lives, to love your neighbor as yourself and to share the Good News of Jesus.

THURSDAY: Missions we support.  These include, Crossover Global, The Association of Related Churches, Re-Launch, Oasis of Hope Children's Home in Kenya, Krippa Ministries in India, The Barnes Academy, Karim Neives with YWAM

FRIDAY: Our nation.  Pray for President Joe Biden and VP Kamala Harris.  Pray for our State's Senators, Lindsey Graham and Tim Scott as well as our Congressman Jeff Duncan.  Pray for revival and spiritual awakening in our land.

SATURDAY: Those who are leading in Sunday's Worship.  Pastor Kendall--pray for anointing on the message and for the Holy Spirit to speak through him in a powerful way. Bekky and the Worship Band (Scott Barber, Eric Lizotte, Gary Davis, Nolan Black,)  Those serving in Tech (Kenny Slawson, Grayson Davis, Danielle Barber) Kids' Ministry (Brooke Tucker, Maxine Ramsey) Preschool & Nursery

SUNDAY: Pray the the presence of the Holy Spirit is obvious as we worship today and that lives are changed!

WEEK 2:

MONDAY: Our Schools.  Pray for the elementary, middle and high schools in your community.  Pray for the teachers you know, that they will be the light of the world for the students they teach.  Pray for the safety of our schools and that our children are truly educated not indoctrinated.

SUNDAY: Pray for a powerful outpouring of the Holy Spirit as we gather together to worship.  Ask the Lord to do a fresh work in your life! Pray for those who usually sit around you during our Worship Encounter, that they will have a "God-moment" when they know for sure they are having a personal encounter with him!

WEEK THREE:

MONDAY: Other churches in our community. Thank the Lord for other churches in our community. Pray specifically for at least 3 other churches and their pastors.  Thank the Lord for their ministry.  Pray for fresh wind and fresh fire, that the gospel is proclaimed clearly and powerfully, and that many come to Christ.

TUESDAY: The lost.  Who do you know, that as far as you know, they are far away from God? You most likely have family, co-workers, friends and neighbors who have not yet come to Jesus.  Make a list of 5-10 people, and begin praying for them on a regular basis.  Pray for them AND pray that the Lord will show you how to share the good news of Jesus with them.

WEDNESDAY: Wednesday Evening's Encounter Service.  Pray for a sense of urgency and fervency among the Carpenter's family to gather to pray! Pray for Scott & Danielle as they lead our Youth Ministry, for Brooke as she leads our Children's Ministry and for Pastor Kendall as he leads the Adult Bible Study. This is our final corporate gathering during this 21 day period.  Ask the Lord for increased faith as we pray together!
